...what is the Home Library Service?
The Home Library Service (HLS) offers monthly deliveries of library materials to residents of the Shire who are physically unable to visit Our Library themselves due to illness, frailty and/or disability.

The HLS Coordinator works with community volunteers who select and deliver materials to borrowers. We aim to match a volunteer with a borrower who lives in their local community so we can offer a friendly, personal service. HLS can provide a full range of library services including large and ordinary print books, talking books, magazines, videos and CD ROMs. We can also answer requests for information and special titles.

Provision of the Home Library Service is dependant on the availability of volunteers.

...am I eligible?
The Home Library Service is available to residents of the Mornington Peninsula Shire who are unable to physically visit Our Library and have no-one in their household to visit Our Library for them.

Residents of aged care facilities and supported accommodation can of course use this service. Carers may also be eligible. Residents wanting to receive this service will be visited to discuss eligibility, reading interests and the types of library materials required. This visit will also help to match a volunteer to the services required by the resident.
