| Julie and Julia by Julia Powell | | | Julie and Julia: 65 days, 524 recipes, 1 tiny apartment kitchen: how one girl risked her marriage, her job and her sanity to master the art of living.
The sub-title says it all really! Whilst I enjoyed the movie of the same name, this is an easy, entertaining and quirky book set a year after September 11 in New York City and written with a very young, modern voice. The author challenges herself to cook her way through Mastering the Art of French Cooking by Julia Child, and also discovers the art of blogging. Reading Julie and Julia triggered a curiosity about the famous American cook and led me to her biography, My Life in France.
You might like to work your way through all of these titles and the DVD, but be warned, only the brave would take on the cookbook!
