There are loads of ways you can get involved with Our Library, beyond just borrowing books and attending activities.
You can become a highly valued library volunteer either working in the library or delivering materials to recipients of the Home Library Service.
Home Library Service Volunteer
The Home Library
Service depends on volunteers to choose books and other materials from Our
Library each month and deliver them to people who receive the service.
Volunteers are offered training and on-going support and are matched, where possible, to people living in their local community who wish to receive the service.
Mornington Peninsula Shire recognises the important contribution volunteers make to our community and values the link volunteers can make by choosing to visit residents who may be isolated.
If this sounds like you, please phone the Home Library Service Coordinator on 5982 0126 for more information.
Our Library has over 170 volunteers who give their time to help our library out in many ways and are absolutely treasured by the staff. Our Library loves the flavour which each volunteer bring to Our Library as they all have such differing personalities as well as backgrounds. The volunteers perform all sorts of tasks which include efforts to make sure Our Library looks its best and that the collection is shelved correctly so that staff can offer the fantastic customer service that is delivered at Our Library. Every minute they spend is invaluable.
