Craft event - knit a pair of cosy socks - Mornington Library

Recommended for adults 

You will need to be able to attend the Mornington library for all three of these dates and knit at home in between:

Saturday 3 September  +   Saturday 10 September  +   Saturday 24 September 

You must be able to cast on, knit, purl, decrease (k2tog and ssk) and knit in the round.

Pattern will be provided. Please not the list of sock knitting requirements to bring with you on the day:

  1. 100g 4 ply sock yarn (75/25 wool/nylon mix)
  2. 1 set of double pointed needles = 15 cm length size 2.5
  3. 1 small circular knitting needle 30cm or 25cm, circumference size 2.5 (do not get the 40cm needle as it will be too big).
  4. Two stitch makers (or paper clips or safety pins will work)
  5. Darning needle
  6. Note book and pen
  7. You will find a 2.5 crochet hook is useful for picking up dropped stitches if you have one, but not essential.

 

All the above is available from Little Woollie in Hastings, Crafts Cottage, Oakleigh (both will mail needles out if you phone them) or online. Wool available from above shops and Mornington and Dromana wool shops. Sock wool available from Spotlight also.
