Author Talk and Music: Joe Matera - Mornington Library
Next date: Saturday, 15 March 2025 | 11:00 AM
to 12:00 PM
Have you ever wondered where inspiration comes from when writing a book? Or a song? What does the process entail in creating either? Want a peek behind the curtain of what touring is really like?
Join Joe Matera as he shares stories of his writing and musical life, lifting the curtain on what goes on behind the scenes. He will offer insights, anecdotes, and helpful tips for aspiring writers, musicians, fans, or lovers of books and music.
Being a musician and an author might seem worlds apart, but they have much more in common than one thinks. For the past twenty-five years, musician, music journalist and author Joe Matera, has etched out a living from both. From undertaking European concert tours to writing for some of the world’s biggest music magazines to author of two best-selling books, Backstage Pass: The Grit and the Glamour and Louder Than Words: Beyond the Backstage Pass.
Yet the glamourous public persona of both couldn’t be further from the realities of it all. What goes on behind the scenes is often less discussed than what happens in the public arena.
There will be a mini acoustic concert at the end.
Free, bookings essential.
