16 Days of Activism

The 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence is an annual international campaign.

The 2023 theme is “UNITE! Invest to prevent violence against women and girls”.

The campaign calls on everyone to show how much they care about ending violence against women and girls by sharing the actions they are taking to create a world free from violence towards women. It runs from November 25th, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, until 10 December, Human Rights Day.

World Vegan Month

World Vegan Day is a global event celebrated annually on 1 November.

Vegans celebrate the benefits of veganism for animals, humans, and the natural environment.

Indigenous Literacy Day

Wednesday 6 September

ILD is hosted by the Indigenous Literacy Foundation, an Australian not-for-profit charity that aims to improve literacy in remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Children's Book Week: READ, INSPIRE, GROW

Each year CBCA connects children and books by celebrating Book Week. Australian children's literature enriches our nation, and the annual awards recognise Australian books of literary merit and outstanding contribution to Children's literature and the joyful celebration of stories for children.
