After School Kids Activities

We run regular after school activities for 6-12 year old to encourage computational thinking, creativity, reason systematically and working collaboratively.  The following activities are cycled through Mornington, Rosebud and Hastings each school term.  A parent or guardian is expected to be present in the library during the activity.  Please see the dates below.

Build Code Play

Kids will be doing hands-on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths activities over the course of 6 weeks. This activity will help develop kids problem-solving creatively, offer collaboration, increase critical thinking in a hands-on session.

These sessions will have a mix of activities that kids can choose to discover, less structured with lots of options to build, code, play.

These are drop-in sessions no booking are required.  Suitable for ages 6-12.

Term 1 2020 Mornington Library, 4 pm Thursdays, February 6 - March 20.

Young inventors

The young inventors is a project-based learning program that provides hands-on science, technology, engineering, arts and math opportunity to budding young inventors. In this 6 week program, your child will use a variety of technology and explore design thinking using LittleBits and Micro:BBC boards to invent objects such as a self-driving art machine or a cardboard inchworm. Suitable for ages 8-12.

This is a 6-week program on Wednesdays 4 pm - 5 pm. You should be able to attend all 6 sessions, as the course is progressive with each week building on the previous week's contact.
