After School Kids Activities

We run regular after school activities for 6-12 year old to encourage computational thinking, creativity, reason systematically and working collaboratively.  The following activities are cycled through Mornington, Rosebud and Hastings each school term.  A parent or guardian is expected to be present in the library during the activity.  Please see dates below. 

Edison Lego Club

Edison robots are engaging tool for teaching kids computational thinking and computer programming in a hands-on way. Edison are Lego brick compatible in addition to having their own EdCreate construction kits.  Kids will build and program their creations using barcodes to respond to light and sound, follow lines and avoid obstacles and so much more.  These are drop in sessions no booking are required.  Suitable for ages 6-12.

Term 1 2019 Rosebud Library, 4pm - 5pm Wednesdays  from February 13 to March 20

Coding

Kids will learn to code using robots like ozobots and Nao.  Coding helps kids learn to think creatively, reason systematically and work collaboratively. Suitable for ages 8-12.

This is a 6 week program on Thursdays from 14 February until 21 March between 4-5pm.

You should be able to attend all 6 sessions, as the course is progressive with each week building on the previous week's contact.

Build Code Play

Kids will be doing hands on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths activities over the course of 4 weeks. This activities will help develop kids problem-solving creatively, offer collaboration, increase critical thinking in a hands on session. 

These sessions will have a mix of activities that kids can choose to discover, less structured with lots of options to build, code, play.  Suitable for ages 8-12.

Places are limited and bookings are essential. Bookings will open 2 weeks prior to the event.
